A Word From the Founder & CEO
"As a survivor, it is my charge to facilitate awareness about the scarring problem of child sexual abuse. From ages 5 to 19, I encourage peer to peer education, running workshops on appropriate touch, intimate partner violence, the healing process, legal options, and self-reflection. I am an advocate for those that begin to tell their story but more importantly I, along with the volunteers of Just Speak, Inc., are the voice and physical expression of a quiet survivor's courage. We: Silence the Pain." -Brittni A-M Kellom
Ms. Brittni Kellom is the CEO and Founder of JUST SPEAK, INCORPORATED. Ms. Kellom founded the organization in 2003, after suffering four years of severe sexual and emotional abuse from her biological father. Ms. Kellom made the choice not to speak about her abuse. Her own understanding of the importance of speaking out, has compelled her to travel sharing her story of pain and healing with others.
The civil courts (Child Protective Services) charged her father with sexual child abuse describing him as a known pedophile. Yet, he was never prosecuted. Ms. Kellom has become more aware of the number of offenders who remain free. She is determined to educate and encourage action, so pedophiles receive appropriate punishment and/or treatment to prevent repeat offenses.
Brittni is dedicated to advocating for abused children and raising the consciousness of legislatures, law enforcement, medical professionals and the community-at-large. Ms. Kellom recognizes the affect child abuse has on society, and the positive impact a proactive community can make.
It is Brittni's hope that she can parlay her own healing; while urging others to speak out about their abuse and receive the help they need. Just Speak is committed to making a positive change in our global society.
Brittni's inner strength has been instrumental in her personal achievements, and in uplifting others. She plans to become a child psychiatrist. Brittni speaks on child sexual abuse, the fallout of domestic violence, and stress disorders and sexual abuse. Ms. Kellom is not yet a licensed therapist or counselor, and recommends seeking a professional to discuss issues surrounding abuse.
